Bone Fracture Repair
Bone Gaft
It is a process where a substitute bone is placed in the gaps of the broken bone. The bone could come from the patient themselves, a process called autogaft. If not, it is usually a donated bone referred to as an allogaft. Basically, the procedures is the insertion of the bone gaft. It is held together with pins and such. To seal it, the skin closes the wound.
The Bone Gaft is used to to help bone fractures which miss some bone parts, an injured bone, and combine joints to prevent movement.
Osteoblasts, Bone Remodeling
When a bone in our body breaks, osteobalsts
replace the old with new bone tissue. The breaking is due to the osteoclasts which break down the bones when they become older and fragile. A cell called the chondrabalst makes new cartilage for the body. This is called bone remodeling.
